Radio Program Volume Level Fixed
Just a quick note to alert those listeners to Prewrath Radio Online who had a problem with a low volume, we fixed the volume quirk in the last few shows that were affected. The volume level should be at a standard level now. Speaking of which, we are looking forward to having a streaming audio feature to our radio programs starting in a month!

'Olmert Holding Israel Liquidation Sale'
JERUSALEM Knesset members across the political spectrum slammed commitments made by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at today's U.S.-sponsored Annapolis summit.
"The things that were said at the conference are worrying and prove that the State of Israel is facing a liquidation sale," said Zevulun Orlev, chairman of the National Union party. Click here to read more...

More Scriptural Evidence for Imminence, Not!

There are other passages that often make their way onto a list that supposedly supports pretribulational any-momentism. Yet, a closer look reveals that any-momentism is an inference drawn from these passages. Just as before, these passages do not support any-momentism. Listen, as I make my case.

Pre Wrath Books as Christmas Gifts...
Give a book on the Pre Wrath perspective for your friend or relative this Christmas season.
I'd like to suggest three books from our Prewrath Resources:
The first is The Rapture Question Answered Plain and Simple by Robert Van Kampen. This book is an especially good gift for those who have grown up in a pretribulational background because the author answers many of their objections.

The second book I would suggest buying is The Prewrath Rapture Position Explained. This book is a condensed version of the one above. It leaves out most of the pretribulational objections and gives you just the bare bones of the Prewrath Rapture. It would be an appropriate gift for your non-pretrib friends or family. I have often carried 10-20 copies of these in my car so I can hand them out to folks who are interested in the subject.

The third book, The Sign, would be an excellent Christmas gift for someone you think is ambitious enough to cut their teeth on this comprehensive work by Van Kampen. It covers many more end-time subjects than just the core subject of the Prewrath Rapture.

The Apocalypse that Results from Trying to be Liked by the World...
Phil Johnson has an insightful and pointed article on the true character and agenda of the Post-Evangelical left and their obsession to be liked by the world by placing their hands on God's mouth. Read it here.

A Gospel Synopsis - Read the Olivet Discourse Horizontally
5 Good Reasons to Own a Gospel Synopsis
"The most valuable tool that I use when I study the gospels as a whole or just a single passage ("pericope") is a synopsis. It is truly at arm's reach from my desk. The concept of a synopsis is very simple. It is a format that arranges the gospel parallel stories, teachings, parables, etc. in parallel columns (hence, sun "together," opsis "seeing")." A Few Reasons Why the Olivet Discourse Applies to the Church and Not Israel
To avoid that the Olivet Discourse teaching applies to the Church, pretribulationists frequently claim that instead it applies to Israel. That assertion has been refuted very often here. The most obvious reason is the fact that Jesus says the elect will be persecuted because of his Name, and "many will turn away from the faith" (i.e. apostatize). This is confessional language, which applies to believers--not the nation of Israel.
Darrin expands on a few reasons on the application of the Olivet Discourse. Click here to read it. (Though I differ with his point #2 on the interpretation of Matthew 24:14. I take this prophecy to be a Kingdom judgment announcement upon the ungodly world, which an angel will fulfill (Rev. 14:6-7), not the Church. This is unrelated to the great commission, which does not apply to Matthew 24:14. See this article for further explanation. However, the point against pretribulationism can still be made since Jesus in Matthew 28 is said to be with "you" (i.e. the Church) to the "end of the age," and the end of the age has not ceased before the events in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24:14) therefore the Church age has not come to fruition before the events in the Olivet Discourse.)

Prewrath Rapture Dot Com is Two Years Old...Thank You Readers!

The Blog is two years old as of this month. We want to thank all the readers for your faithfulness in visiting us, as well as the feedback. We trust that God has used the content and resources available here for his glory in helping believers learn more about his Return. We certainly have learned of many new prewrathers the past year, a few of their encouraging stories we have posted here.
The blog has gone through some substantive changes in the past two years. The first year was slow but the second year picked up a lot of steam. Our goal was to build up substantive content on the blog--audio, text, resources (and we will continue to do so at measured pace).
In January we are going to add a streaming player to the Radio program. That way you do not have to download the program to listen to it, rather you can just click the "Play" button and listen to it from the blog post itself. We also have a few more irons in the fire for 2008 as far as new features for the blog that we will reveal later.
If you want to help promote the prewrath view and you have a website, we would appreciate a link on your site. And those who have us linked already--thank you!
Also, there are three ways to search the blog. There is a search engine box to the right. There is a Topics Archive, as well as a Monthly Archive. There is also a Radio Archive (which is also included in all the other search options).
Please keep us in your prayers for this next year, and for the upcoming Prewrath Conference.
Soli Deo Gloria.

Has John Hagee Gone Mad?
"Jesus Never Claimed to Be the Messiah"?
"The woman said to him, 'I know that Messiah is coming' (the one called Christ); 'whenever he comes, he will tell us everything.' Jesus said to her, 'I, the one speaking to you, am he.'" - John 4:25-26

Let's Check the Scriptures for Imminence!

The idea that the Lord can return for His Bride at any-moment by their own admission is a core value of pretribulationism. One would think that such an important issue would have an explicit basis in the Scriptures. Let's examine the seven most often quoted passages that supposedly supports this belief to see whether this is the case.

Election Contradicts Imminence
"The Bible does not teach an any-moment Return of Christ, but rather it teaches the right-moment Return of Christ." - Charles Cooper
In the recently begun new series on Prewrath Radio Online, Charles Cooper cogently argued that the fact of Biblical election clearly contradicts the pretribulational doctrine of imminence. If I am not mistaken, this is the first time ever, in audio or print, that this argument has been articulated--from a prewrather, or post-triber. Though some may not see the significance of this argument at first, I am convinced that it is one of the most effective Biblical arguments against imminence--it is an airtight argument that every prewrather can use when discussing imminency with a pretriber.
I have tested it for years on pretribbers and every attempt they throw at it has fallen far short. There is absolutely no wiggle room. And therefore it should be mastered by the prewrather and used with confidence to demonstrate the necessity of the event of the salvation of God's elect that must take place before the rapture happens.
Indeed, the Bible teaches specific eschatological events that must precede the rapture, but the necessity of the salvation of the elect is so obviously taught in Scripture that it should be cited as an 800-pound gorilla against imminency. In a soon-future post, I will unpack it and explain how to use this argument with pretribbers--it is actually very simple. I will also list all the failed pretrib objections to it and my responses to each one.
If you have not listened to Charles Cooper explicate this argument in the recent program, here you go (I'd suggest sending this audio link to your pretrib friends).

Imminence: An Impossible Doctrine to Prove!

The idea that the Lord can return for His Bride at any-moment is at the heart of pretribulationism. Yet, this theory cannot stand the test of biblical examination. John in Revelation 7:9 saw a number that no man could physically count. This one event proves the absolute impossibility of imminence. The Lord could not return until enough elect individuals were born to fill John's quota. Listen as I dismantle this position.

Just a reminder for those who have registered to attend the 2008 Prewrath Conference and live out of state: If you have not booked your plane tickets yet, hurry because January is creeping up soon! And those who are sitting on the fence--you still have some time to sign up and make arrangements--it is just over two months away!
